SUMMARY:
A Cloud Engineer will help ensure operational success for teams consuming cloud services by providing tier 1, 2 & 3 support. Primary responsibilities include monitoring cloud server health and backups, creating & managing formal documentation processes, and tracking ticket progress within a ticketing system. A Cloud Engineer is also expected to contribute to projects from conceptualization to execution using best practices. The individual will own clearly defined deliverables of customer projects and help drive successful project deliverables. A deep understanding of the following is expected: Cloud Computing on major platforms (AWS and Azure). Assist in client communication. Analyze and assign tickets. Contribute to technical management of vendor network. Support migrations to cloud platforms. Support Security/Compliance Services. Adhere to infrastructure as code standards. Automation/DevOps. Outsourced IT Infrastructure Solutions.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Key responsibilities which take no less than 10% of overall job time. Proficiency with major cloud platform management (AWS & AZURE). Be part of client focused projects while responsible for tasks such as cloud deployments, migrations to cloud, reviews of client cloud environments from the perspective of best practices, automation, etc. Effectively manage customer expectations. Demonstrable knowledge of continuous integration and/or continuous deployment tools and scripting. Ability to understand client requirements from technical descriptions and demonstrate implementation execution. Contribute to transition to managed service team. Ability to conduct thorough investigations, including a deep dive into reliability and scaling issues from both a code and infrastructure perspective. Contribute to the technical knowledge base. May perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: education and experience Team player, strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills is a must; ability to work in complex multi-national/multi-cultural environments. Solid experience (3+ years) with functional, technical and integration related topics. Experience with short and accurate documentation and modeling activities. Certified solutions architect on a major cloud platform (AWS or Azure equivalent). Five years of software applications and/or information technology experience. Strong conceptual abilities and implementation of pragmatic methods and procedures. Openness to new ideas and change, ability to learn, flexibility, adaptability, willingness to innovate, unconventional thinking.
