Who we are and what we do
Shaw and Partners is a software development provider for high-profile startups with approximately 25 remote staff. We are also incubating two startups. Christopher Shaw, the founder and CEO, would be your manager.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
- Identify and track bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and internal standards
Technical requirements:
- Frustrated with poorly structured, inefficient, and unmaintainable code
- Experience with testing frameworks, building backend APIs and user-centric frontends
- Solid Computer Science fundamentals knowledge (algorithms, data structures, concurrency, etc.)
Languages you need to know:
- React.js, Node.js and TypeScript
It would be very nice if you had:
- Strong experience and interest in working with Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform
- Experience with Next, and Responsive Web Design, state management patterns and solutions (e.g. Redux) ES2015+, HTML5 APIs and CSS3
- Working experience in Continuous Integration/Deployment
- B.Sc. degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Software Engineering

- We dont ask you to keep advanced English in your pocket, we have employees from Jordan, Egypt, Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Ukraine and more
- We dont have happy hours on Fridays because everyone works remotely, but there are online games if you arrange them with the team
- Do you have a doctors appointment or a driving test in the middle of the week? No problem, you manage your own hours, you just have to keep an eye on when the client sends a message and requests a meeting
- It sounds a bit obvious, but for those who have never worked remotely, we dont require a dress code. You just cant show up without a shirt when youre on a video call, okay?
- If you refer a colleague to work with us and they are hired, after three months of your friends employment contract, well pay you an allowance
- Were not Google, but our selection process is faster than theirs, you can trust us

- You have a sense of ownership, the project is yours, there was a bug at the weekend? Fix it
- You enjoy working on a project from start to finish, so roll up your sleeves because youll be working on both the front-end and the back-end too. But dont worry if youre not so keen on working on either, tell us and well find a way!

- Youre plugged into the latest news in the tech world and like to give input on new ideas and solutions
